Spring wakins
« on: March 31, 2010, 07:57:57 PM »
I am finally able to get out and take pictures of some to the wakins & watoni. We had a hard winter here, I lost 2 tanks of calico watoni babies indoors & as soon as it was over the heron showed up & somehow the 5000 gal wakin pond got drained. I was afraid the heron had a really good sushi dinner in my back yard.
But I got to start feeding the koi and outside ponds yesterday for the first time. And took some wakin pics for a store in Ohio today.

Tracey, I was wondering the same thing too (about the store in Ohio)!  Could it be Green Vista?!  I saw some Wakin there a couple of weeks ago--I was showing my daughter and explaining the differences to her.  Could they have been yours?   :)

No I haven't done any shipping yet & all of the ones pictured above are from calico spawning. So you could get calico babies in your pond even with just a red one. The store is in Cincinnati, on 8th st I believe.
I still have 2 more tanks to take pictures of.

Bonnie,
I didn't pay attention to the price (which was right there in front of me)  ::)  You could get on their website and call them before you drove up there tho'.  I wasn't in the market to buy fish so the price didn't stick in my head, but it didn't seem unreasonable to me or it WOULD HAVE stuck in my head!   lol

I love that place...I'm sure they'll have a lot of stuff stocked now and ready for the booming business in the next few months.  Can't wait to get back there!   8)

Way cool, a store that carries them. You can pick and choose, too cool.

Ponds are like patato chips, ya just can't have one.
