New "gold" fish
« on: November 27, 2008, 06:19:01 AM »
I got a new goldfish from Tommy. He arrived yesterday. He's black and white. His black has an undertone of gold. So it will be interesting to see if he keeps his color.

I would guess male.
Its an oranda. Black wen, black stripe down the back (dorsal line), partially black fins.

I know, I know, I will have to get a photo. Tomorrow - today I have to cook.

He's VERY healthy.
Starved and thin, of course (they have to be to transport safely). When he eats, he hits the surface like a bass - very aggressively.

I don't think he sees very well. But enough to eat  lol

His back is rather straighter than I usually like - which probably means he will be healthier, no bladder deformity.

He's having a little trouble with the current in the aquarium - but he will get stronger.  @O@

I'm thrilled.
The two goldfish I had - both Orandas - King Richard and FRiday, were released when the Hurricane came, I knew the power would go out, and they couldn't survive without oxygenation and filtration. Friday died. But we haven't seen King Richard since. She's probably doing fine - but hiding. Anyway, the aquariums were empty.
Not any more!!!
