Author Topic: Overnight BF Fosters, Vick Dogs, Dogtown, and a few pics (Read 1631 times)

This weekend Best Friends Animal Sanctuary brought five dogs for an Animal Expo being held here at the fairgrounds. They adopted 3 of the 5.:yahoo: :yahoo:
The other two came home with me last night to spend the night so the BF folks didn't have to try to keep them in the motel room.

The first is Ginny. She was a sweetheart but she's shy and isn't too fond of men. I think she's been abused. They had adopted her out last month but the people brought her back because of her issues. Poor thing, she's a sweet girl.

This is Bell. She's a Dobie mix and she's absolutely wonderful. She loves to snuggle and give kisses. She followed me all around the house and watched everthing I did. She slept all cuddled up to me on the bed last night.

They were lots of fun. I delivered them back to Larry at the motel this morning so they could head back to Kanab.
My pack didn't think much of the whole deal. I had to keep the boys outside because they didn't like the idea at all. My two aussie girls got along with them fine.

I asked how the Vick dogs were doing. The word is "they are doing great."
However, they are not going to adopt out as many of them as originally hoped, probably only half of them as they have been issued a court order to keep about half of the dogs. I was sad to learn that they are not going to be able to adopt as many but this is a great educational process with these dogs and a second chance for them. I'm told that the sweetest of them all is the dog that was the lead fighter. He is a "solid scar from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail." He loves people and has no human aggression issues but he's ready to fight any dog he sees. He will be spending the rest of his life at BF. :'(

They are almost finished filming five new episodes of DOGTOWN.:yahoo: Larry said they should be done this week. The new episodes will air sometime in the fall.:cool:

Cute dogs. Love the shots of Zeus resting his chin on your knee and giving you "that look" LOL.... and of Chance resting a paw on your knee and also giving you "that look". We used to have a dog very similar looking to Bell. She was a sweet dog but had severe epileptic seizures that took more and more drugs to try to control.

What beautiful dogs... all of them. It was nice of you to give Ginny and Bell a place to stay while they were in town. Bell, especially, looks like a real sweetheart.

One of my dogs, Dusty, gives me the same look as Zeus when he's getting impatient.
