Calling whites! (I don't have one)

I'm thinking of adding a white lily to the pond in front of the house.
Currently the pond has a small blue - Rhonda Kay; a deep purple blue - Director Moore; and a large pink - the Fool; as well as a sprinkling of Flare (which escaped the pot).

I was looking on this site for photos of whites. I'm attracted to Gonnerre (because of the large, multiple petals) and Gladstoniana (for the same reason). I don't much like Arc en Ciel - because its skinny. I guess I like my water lilies Rubenesque. 

Does anyone have another white that you would suggest? Reasons would be beautiful bloom - fragrant bloom - beautiful pads - easier to grow???

Since you have the warm temps where you are I recommend Caliente, a Craig Presnell hybrid.  I'm not fond of whites but this one has beautiful pads, gets really large, & the blooms are huge.  (It is actually a very light yellow but to me it is more of a white.)

Yes, those are the pads that go with it.  Olive & heavily flecked on the mature pads.  Juvenile pads are a darker red/white color--so in other words very distinctive.  If the petals get splashed with water, the petals will have pink spots where the water was.

Caliente is very pretty- I love the pads too. 

As far as hardy whites, Gonnere is a great one... My favorite would have to be Moondance though.... Large oval shaped mottled pads, and tropical-like blooms... Good bloomer too...

An awesome night blooming white (and you would see it open l;ate afternoon through mid morning, longer when overcast/cloudy)
would be Missouri. Exremely 'Rubenesque' in bothe flower and pads.
One of my blooms was 12" across, lily was planted bare root in the mud pond...pads were over 2 feet wide.
The petals are very thick, waxy, almost succulent.

And another thing, the pads are jaggedly serrated, more than any tropical I have seen!

I wish I knew what my unknown white was as I would recommend it. It has these big beautiful flowers and is very nice.

I think Gonnere is awesome. It is a very bright white flower.

Denver is a really nice white. It is a creamy white. Sometimes you stand there looking at it and debate is it white or is it very pale yellow. Its a real good bloomer.
